Our Italian journey

Our Italian journey started when John took me to the Italian lake district. I loved it! The Italians understand the essence of life; enjoying it.

John had come here for holidays for over 40 years, he feels rooted here. Families sitting together at the lake sharing a meal and snoozing in the shade, la vita è bella.

On our holidays John and I discussed moving to Italy. We wanted to change our hectic lives and do something else. Our Italian journey was born.

John worked as senior manager in hospitals (radiotherapy, radiology and nuclear medicine). I had my own freelance (IT management) company.

Maybe hospitality? Italy felt like the right place to do that and we dreamed of starting a glamping or a bed & breakfast.

For over three years we looked for a house in Italy that would be perfect for our guests and ourselves. A private place in the hills with great views. Close enough to towns, bars and restaurants.

A house with plenty of space for guests and a part that could be converted into accommodation for us. All within driving distance of airports, major cities and the sea.

We named it Cascina GianTino and we hope it will be your home away from home.

Our motto
Say yes to new adventures!

“From the panoramic location of the fab house, to the spacious, well designed rooms, to the friendly, easygoing hospitality including a welcome drink & delish breakfasts, it was perfect! Great location in wine country, near wonderful restaurants & small historic villages, and the hosts are happy to help you with recommendations. Small place with other nice guests that appreciate the low-key boutique environment.”

“The guesthouse was easy to reach by car. The room was very comfortable, the general feeling welcoming and the pool was great. The view from the pool is precious. We had a barbecue evening with the hosts as well as the other guests, giving us a nice feel of community. There are also multiple restaurants as well as multiple wineries in the surrounding area. The included breakfast was good as well.”
