What kind of information do we collect/process?

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. Below you’ll find an overview of the personal data we may process:

  • First and last name
  • Contact information including email address
  • Allergy information for guests dining with us
  • Health considerations for guests using the massage service
  • Other personal details that you actively provide, for example information that you share with us in correspondence and by telephone

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data on website visitors who are younger than 18 years old. Unless they have permission from their parents or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is over 18. We therefore recommend that parents be involved in the online activities of their children, in order to prevent data being collected on children without parental permission. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data on a minor without such consent, please contact us at privacy@cascinagiantino.com and we will delete this information.

For what purpose and on what basis do we process personal data?

Cascina GianTino processes your personal data because you make use of our services and/or because you provide us with this data yourself. We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Confirming, amending or cancelling a reservation (by e-mail, social media or telephone)
  • Handling reservation payments
  • Contacting you in response to a request you have made (by e-mail, social media or telephone)
  • Following up to ensure everything was as per your requirements (by e-mail, social media or telephone)
  • Storing your details securely in order to provide you with seamless service for repeat business
  • Contacting you via e-mail to send you our newsletter (you may unsubscribe at any time)
  • Informing you of a change to our policies or any issues with or changes to our services/facilities

Cascina GianTino also processes personal data if we are legally obliged to do so for tax, regulatory, legal and health & safety purposes.

How long do we keep personal data?

Cascina GianTino will not store your personal data any longer than is strictly necessary to realise the goals for which your data are collected. Please note that numerous retention periods require that data is (and must remain) stored. This applies in particular to the Hotel and Accommodation Act or Tax Law obligations to retain data. If there are no further storage obligations, the data will be routinely deleted once the purpose has been achieved.

In addition, we may retain data if you have given us permission to do so or if legal disputes arise and we use evidence within the scope of legal limitation periods, which can be up to thirty years; the regular limitation period is three years.

Do we share personal data with third parties?

Cascina GianTino will not sell your information to third parties and will only provide it if necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We can use third parties to provide certain services e.g. online bookings. These partners are selected on the basis they are compliant with current legislation and do not sell, distribute or lease your personal information.

Cascina GianTino only uses technical, functional and analytical cookies that do not infringe on your privacy. Cascina GianTino does not make use of any form of automated decision making or profiling.

Viewing, amending or deleting data

You have the right to inspect, correct or remove your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your permission for the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Cascina GianTino and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can request us to send the personal details we have about you in a computer file to you or another organisation named by you.

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal information (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we reserve the right to charge a fee of € 100,- if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive.

You can send a request for inspection, correction, deletion, data modification or request to withdraw your permission or objection to the processing of your personal data to privacy@cascinagiantino.com.

To make sure that the request for inspection was made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your identity document with the request. Please make sure that your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN) are blackened in this copy. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, usually within four weeks.

Please note that where you ask us to erase, correct, object to process or seek to restrict our processing of data we may refuse your request where we have a legal obligation, contractual or other legitimate business interest to refuse your request. If we refuse your request then we will notify you of this refusal and you will have the right to appeal.

Data Protection Authority

We will gladly assist you if you have complaints about the handling of your personal data. According to privacy legislation, you also have the right to file a complaint about this handling of your personal data with the Data Protection Authority.

How we protect personal data

Cascina GianTino takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized changes.
